Join us for a free symposium and continuing medical education program
(CME) hosted by Dr. Kerri Remmel, Director of University Hospital's Stroke
Center.
On July 24th Dr. Mark Alberts, Director of the Stroke Program at Northwestern
University Medical School, will discuss how your hospital can obtain primary
stroke center designation. Dr. Alberts also is head of the Brain Attack
Coalition and author of the landmark article on Stroke Center development
in JAMA, June 2000.
Additional speakers will include Dr. Kerri Remmel, Director of University
Hospital's Stroke Center and Wende Miller of the American Heart Association.
Following this course participants should be able to:
- Identify key elements required for primary stroke center designation
- Discuss the "Get With The Guidelines" program
- Describe clinical pathways from emergency departments - discharge

The symposium, hosted by University Hospital's Stroke Center, is designed
for hospital administrators, nurse managers and physicians and nurses in
the following specialties: internal medicine, emergency medicine, neurology,
primary care, and critical care. This free symposium is part of our ongoing
effort to share our knowledge with area hospitals in order to strengthen
the services our medical community provides.
